Simpsons episode review

The new episodes are drastically losing humor, but that's what happens to TV shows after they've been on several years. After I saw "Once Upon A Time In Springfield", I finally decided to say something about it. I found the plot line and jokes predictable, the story perverted (Krusty's like 60 or something and he falls in love with a 20-year-old) and the celebrity parodies confusing (if I don't know who someone is when I see a celebrity parody on The Simpsons, it isn't funny to me). The story also sounded very recycled -- I know I've seen the same story before...

The last new episode I watched before this one was "O Brother, Where Bart Thou?" and I only watched it because there was a South Park parody. (Also, on South Park, when they parody a celebrity and I have no idea who they are, it's still funny.) I thought this one was OK; it was funny, seemed original, but the celebrity parody thing totally pissed me off -- there was a scene with several celebrity impersonations and I didn't understand one of them.

And I will admit, I didn't see the entire episode ("Once Upon A Time In Springfield"); it was so bad, I shut it off halfway through.
